Oh Clementine...

We have decided to paint the wall behind the front desk a shade of Orange. It has been terribly difficult to choose a shade that is not too pink and not too red. We love the idea of decorating the wall with lots of gold and chocolate brown accessories.
The photos below are some of the oranges we like the most yet we haven't met our match... We are debating between Benjamin Moore's Festive Orange, Rumba Orange, and Tangy Orange. Any suggestions?

An Hermes box was our first inspiration... Turned out too bright. But, we love the color!

The color of these chairs are a toned down version of our first attempt... "Calypso Orange". "B. Moore Festival Orange"

A room we love. Tone on tone tangerine.

Ideas for a Modern Baby Shower...

It's been the season of baby showers around here. It made me think, what would be a fun color combo for a shower other than baby pink or blue. What about orange & blue for a boy and orange & pink for a girl? Here are some boy shower ideas...

Place settings by Royal Copenhagen with some fun linens by Madeline Weinrib.

Yummy "Newborn" cupcakes from Back in the Day Bakery.

Thoughtful baby gifts (in orange & blue of course)...

Herb Gardens...

This weekend our herb garden was in full force. With my black thumb, I'm truly amazed when anything will grow in our yard. But we planted a raised bed in the backyard and filled it with herbs. The dill, sage, lemon verbena, basil, oregano, parsley, rosemary and thyme are doing great. The poor lavender never had a chance. But I think that's pretty good odds! All weekend we made meals with our herbs and they tasted so much better...

Our friend, Farmer D, helped us set our our container garden. He's based in Atlanta and is so knowledgeable about all plants and organic gardening. He even sells this amazing compost at Whole Foods. Check him out...

On a grander scale, check out the New York Botanical Garden Event for some inspiration on planting all kinds of vegetables and herb gardens.

The New York Botanical Garden's Edible Garden Event runs until September 13th, 2009. The New York Botanical Garden's campus-wide summer program celebrates edible plants. They asked Martha Stewart to bring her distinctive design aesthetic to the historic Luce Herb Garden, redesigning it to display a rich selection of herbs. If you can't visit, check out these amazing garden design.

New and Bigger Additions to the "DDD"

As mentioned in our previous post, we are lucky enough to be located in a small area referred to as the Downtown Design District. Recently, several shops have opened and or expanded. We are thrilled to have them all.

You can't miss MINT. We are so pleased to welcome Alison Nanninga and her sense of fashion to the local Savannah scene. At MINT you can find all the latest trends for young professionals. Some of the lines Alison carries are Finley, Yoana Baraschi, and Black Halo. Stop in to MINT or check out her web site at

The highly established James Hogan is expanding his store right across the street from Number Four Eleven. James, a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology has had his line in stores such as Barney's , Bergdorf's, and Saks Fifth Avenue. In 2004, James opened his boutique in Savannah with ready to wear lines such as ETRO, Piazza Sempione, and Charles Lang Lima. We are very excited to see the transformation of the building across the street from us as James works his magic. We can hardly wait for the new doors to open!

The newly expanded James Hogan is scheduled to re-open next week .

Custard recently relocated to a fabulous location right across the street. The new store is larger but still just as awesome as the old one. Check out their new items and their new location for some great stylish finds!
