How much is that doggie in the window?

Meet the latest addition to Number Four Eleven - Stewie. I adopted Stewie, a chihuahua/jack russell mix (I think!), about 5 years ago. He's been living up north with my parents but decided he needed a vacation in the South. He's in Savannah for a few months, earning his keep by modeling furniture and by greeting people as they come in. He gets paid in dog treats from the mailman and with daily walks in Forsyth Park. Take a look at what he's been up to over the past few weeks. Unfortunately, he's not for sale, but you can take him out on approval anytime.

Hanging out in the window, checking out the people walking on Whitaker Street, trying to lure them into the shop with his good looks and charm.

He likes to spend his spare time catching up on his reading. That day he was getting some inspiration from Patina Style, a book by one of our favorite bloggers, Brooke Gianetti of Velvent & Linen

When reading gets old he likes to turn his focus to fine art. He decide to spend some time with a few beautiful pieces by Katherine Sandoz.

All the reading and art appreciation has elevated his tastes so that he now prefers the finer things in life, like relaxing on vintage leather chairs on a Madeline Weinrib rug.

Sometimes it becomes too much to handle and he just passes out in the front window.

Other times, he likes to model some of our custom monogram work.

I found him here yesterday. Clearly he thinks he takes a back seat to our seahorse pillow. That, or he's trying to hide after a group of ten children just swarmed him.

He is a great babysitter, though. Stop by anytime with a kid (or ten) and he'll keep them entertained while you shop. Come visit soon though, Stewie's vacation in the South is ending soon before the Savannah summer heat kicks in and then he'll be off to his vacation home in the mountains for the summer.

-Kathryn.
