Happy Halloween!

I feel like once Halloween is over and when November begins tomorrow, we strictly focus all of our attention on Christmas (well, at least I do, I'll admit it!). Before you go get the lights down from the attic, break out the Christmas music, and start frantically finding the perfect gifts, take a second to take what's left of autumn in. Here in Savannah it has just started to feel like fall so only now have I been thinking about pumpkin lattes, sweater weather, boots, and cozying up with one of our throws. As for y'all up in New England that had to endure that terrible storm, I'm so sorry that you have skipped the rest of fall and have gone straight into winter, maybe it's time to escape the snow and visit Savannah? Hmm...?

Friday Find...

I just unpacked these guys this morning and I had to share them with you. It might only be October 28th but it feels, err...smells, like Christmas in here!

The scents du jour are Forest Fir, which smells like what you'd think forest fir would smell like, and Winter, which smells like a really nice vanilla blend. These candles are all natural and burn for 60 hours. Each candle is hand crafted and packaged in recycled materials, printed with soy inks and hand stamped. Fun fact for you - a cute little matchbox is included with every candle!

Did I mention the price? 35 bucks a pop or a set of 3 minis for $34, not bad, eh? Perfect last minute hostess gift during this soon to be crazy busy holiday season.

Have a great weekend, new stuff coming next week! Stay tuned.

New bags!

We've grown our tote/bag/purse collection to expand your shopping horizons with us. We still have our lovely and very popular burlap tote with ties, but we've introduced a few new styles to the collection. They're all totally affordable (read: under $50 with a monogram!) and they make great gifts for the upcoming holidays. Take a look at the newbies:

If $50 is a bit of a stretch for your budget, check out these jute bags we just got in. Available in two different sizes, these natural jute bags are only $25 with a choice of one of 8 possible monograms. Don't worry, if you don't find anything you like from the options we've given you, you can still work with the monogram master Courtland and design your own custom design for some extra moolah.

I know it sounds too good to be true, but I promise it's not. Which one is your favorite? Do your initials match up with any of these? We just picked random monograms as examples, so these bags are up for grabs too.

Globetrotting

Decorating with maps has been a consistent trend in the design world over the past 2 years, but lately I've noticed a shift towards vintage globes, rather than maps. They're a great way to add an old world feel to a space without making it seem too traditional and stuffy. An antique globe can you run for thousands of dollars so check your local garage sales, Craigslist, or vintage shops for a total steal.

Now for a little shameless self-promotion - take a look at some of our latest inventory, these mini vintage inspired globes.

Practically everyone that has walked into the store has commented on these little guys. So cute, right? And don't fall off your chair when you read the price... $12.50 each! You know, people always say to start small when it comes to curating a collection.

And now, a little decorating with globes inspiration for you...

Lonny loves monograms...

I finally flipped through the latest issue of Lonny, and correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems as if they're loving monograms just as much as we (obviously) do around here. I think it's a great example  to show people that monograms can be modern and stylish and they're not just what your grandmother used to do to all of her linens. Except now hers probably look very beautiful and vintage...but anyhow, the point is, there are so many designs and colours that the possibilities are endless , especially when it comes to creating a custom monogram. Scroll through the few screen captures I took and tell me if you agree or not!

Falling for Fouta...

A shipment of lovely Fouta Hammam towels inspired us to do a little rearranging around here yesterday. We were moving furniture up and down the stairs, switching around lamps, organizing samples, and revamping displays. A couple hours later, we finished our bath linen wall, outfitted with a variety of Matouk lines, along with our newest Fouta towels.

And for a closer look -

After all of that work, we weren't finished yet. We decided the hanging rattan chair needed a new home and brought it upstairs to showcase the Fouta bouclettes and tablecloth that came with the massive order of towels. These bouclettes can be used as a luxurious throw or even as a shawl, that's the wonderful thing about the Fouta collections - they're so versatile.

See something you like? Keep in mind if it's not listed on our website but you see it in the pictures, let us know and we'll give you all of the info. Happy shopping!
