Before and After

These are some last few shots of the Isle of Hope cottage makeover.  Thanks again to the amazing homeowner and to Allison Morgan, who took all the beautiful shots for us.

Before and After - Isle of Hope

These are some more photos that our friend, photographer Allison Morgan, took at the Isle of Hope cottage. This is the living room that was built off of the back of the house where an outdoor patio once was. The room was built around those amazing antique wood cabinets that our client found in North Carolina. They are amazing! We added shiplap on the walls, a coffered ceiling and a big built-in bookcase. The fireplace was the orinigal outdoor stone fireplace. The floors got a dark stain and we added a seagrass rug from Merida Merdian and an antique Oushak runner. We had the curtains made out of a seaglass colored slubby linen with a braided natural linen trim.  The zinc lantern was another one-of-a-kind find.

Before and After at Isle of Hope

Here are some more before & after shots of the Isle of Hope cottage. This was the dining room before we started. Things were being moved around while the living room was under construction, so it was a little crazy in there!

Here are the "after" shots that Allison took for us...

I took this bad camera phone shot!  I just wanted you to see how the French antique sideboard turned out once I painted it from yellow to a distressed blue.

Before and After

It's Claire here! I FINALLY had some professional pictures taken of the Isle of Hope Cottage I've been working on and wanted to share the before and after photos with you. Allison Morgan, who is a wonderful Savannah photographer (and a lovely person!), took all the great shots. She also has a fabulous historic house you can check out here

This is a small guest room that was built over the garage.  Here is the before...

The walls were covered in shiplap and painted a creamy white.  We added a dramatic upholstered headboard we made with Libeco Flax Linen with a tape trim and antique brass nailheads.

Then we had curtains made in an ivory linen and added a trim of a gold on gold animal print (Glam Skin by Duralee).  We used bamboo shades for some texture and privacy. We reupholstered an existing club chair in a taupey/gray cotton velvet. The brass lanterns are from Circa Lighting and then we added fun patterned light sleeves from Kaarskoker. The bedside lights are the Boston Functional Lights by Circa. The linen bedding is by Libeco and the gold striped bedskirt is from John Robshaw. A wool & sisal carpet by Merida Meridian makes it feel like you're in a cloud!

These are the great photos that Allison took...

Let me know what you think!  I'll be posting the other rooms all week, so stay posted.

Isle of Hope Guest Cottage Update

Things are coming along at the Guest Cottage on Isle of Hope. Hopefully it will be done in the next week! The shiplap walls are up and painted Creamy White by Benjamin Moore. The ivory Grand Tournai wool rug from Merida was installed last week. And our favorite part was delivered...the amazing headboard! Our upholsterer took our inspiration picture and nailed it. We used Belgian Flax Napoli Vintage Linen by Libeco Linens as the body of the headboard and added an ivory tape trim with antique brass nailheads. Love it SO much. Keep posted...more to come next week.

Here is the before picture...

This was the inspiration for the headboard...
And here's how our version turned out...killer

Isle Of Hope Guest Cottage

I'm working on a fun little project with one of my favorite people! We finished the main part of the house last year and now they have added a guest room above the garage. My client's husband built all this himself in a week. Crazy!

Here are some before pictures for you...

Here are some of the ideas we had for the space. A linen upholstered headboard with natural colored bedding, antique brass lighting, creamy painted wood shiplap walls, a wool & sisal rug, bamboo blinds and a dresser made of reclaimed wood.

I'll keep you posted on the progress. We should be done in June!
