New Displays

These are some incrdibly crummy photos of new displays at the shop.
We worked our tales off the other day getting ready for new holiday shipments. Lots of fun things are being delivered every day. New NEST candles and perfumes, screen printed hand towels and cocktail napkins, fabulous linens, artwork and more!
Stop by and see us...

Baby Poppy !

New perfumes by NEST. The grapefruit scent is to die for.

New Metallic Foutas. The hand towels would make a very festive holiday party napkin. The towels are beautiful.

Oyster shell garland. Great for your Christmas tree... or your bed

NEST holiday candles... smell oh so good

6 days to go!

Yes, you read that right, men. You have 6 full days left to buy that special lady in your life a Valentine's Day gift! May I suggest a few items?

Okay the first two are obvious because they are classic No. Four Eleven items. Get something personal!

Libeco Linen Pillow. Be bold and get a bright raspberry colored monogram. Fitting for the holiday AND looks great.

What girl doesn't love things that are gold, especially when it's jewelry?! Stop by the shop because all of our jewelry on the floor is 50% off. We have to make room for all the beautiful pieces Claire ordered at market in January - take a look at all the new inventory here. That gorgie piece the bangles are sitting in is the Golden Clam Bowl, which would be an excellent addition to any coffee table or bookshelf for a little glitz. Also - don't forget, nothing says 'I love you' like some one-of-a-kind art, especially when it's done by the famous, Katherine Sandoz. That's a gift she'll keep for life, I promise.

I'll admit I'm slightly terrified of color sometimes (designers out there will agree with me!) but I do love me some brightly colored leather clutches. The fuschia clutch is probably my favorite. Again, also the most color appropriate one for this holiday. You guys can't go wrong with these totally affordable (read: under $20!) clutches.

It doesn't get any cuter than this Two Elephants pillow by John Robshaw. What makes the pillow all kinds of wonderful is that it's actually hand painted on the linen/cotton blend. You have to see it in person to fully appreciate it.

Now because I want to help you out, we'll discount any online order 15% until midnight on the 14th! Just enter in the code 'LOVE' at checkout. Yeah, I went there. I have no shame in being super cheesy this time of year.

Oh and I forgot to mention, another way we made things super easy is by categorizing our gifts on our website, so you'll see all gifts appropriate for her here.

Hurricane Claire.

Last week I walked into work a little late after an appointment and it looked like a hurricane had just torn through the place. To my surprise, Claire clearly had a burst of energy that morning and took it upon herself to rearrange the place. A couple of tourists walked by while we were mid-madness and asked if we were setting up shop for the first time. A few hours and a serious muscle workout later, we ended up with this:

SFERRA napkins, upholstered chairs, candles, adorable clutches from ShopBlithe and the stunning oyster shell mirror.

A little jewelry and a little Katherine Sandoz.

More Katherine Sandoz, cute stools, a classic sofa, and my favorite pillow in the shop.

We moved what I have now declared to be the heaviest display unit EVER. Seriously, it took Claire and I a good 10 minutes to move it 30 feet. It will now permanently live at the top of the stairs if I have any say in the matter. It still houses all of our table linens, but we added some accessories, a pretty lamp, and a beautiful piece by the very talented T.S. Kist.

Stop by and see the place for yourself! I'm sure if you pay Claire she'll come and do the same thing to your house. It's worth it, it feels like a whole new shop in here.

A touch of gold.

Now that Christmas is over and New Years is just a few days away, we're in that weird period during the season when you're not sure when to take down the holiday decorations (or you're just too lazy after all that relaxing to do it so you put it off for awhile, like I do). The decor for New Years is pretty glitzy so you can still pull off white lights for awhile and keep up your standard winter decor (think anything without a red/green theme or Christmas characters). But, it'd be great to put up some decorations the day after Thanksgiving that you know will last you well into January or even further into the year.

I spent some time catching up on magazines and as I was flipping through the recent December 2011 issue of House & Home, I spotted the gold sea urchins that we sell here for $100/set and thought that they displayed them beautifully. They're the perfect accessory not only for the holiday season, but also for year round - they can add a touch of glamor to any space.

Ironically enough, we just got our order of them in today, talk about perfect timing.

I put a set up on the wall behind this uhhh-mazing headboard we had custom made (which is still for sale! $998, queen size, and there's extra fabric if you want to make a matching bedskirt).

Then I thought to switch it up and put the other set in the window, they make great desk accessories - think about using them to organize your mail and papers by sticking them between the metal sticks.

These are probably one of my favorite accessories we sell, so it's a bummer for me when they sell out so quickly! But they really do, so put your order in now here!

Gift Guide: What to buy for that impossible-to-shop-for man in your life.

You know what I'm talking about. Dads, brothers, significant others, uncles...they're all pretty impossible to buy for unless they like golf or tools. Let me ease your pain and suggest a few manly gifts we have for those special men in your lives.

Let them never forget you while at work with one of these Burled Wood Frames
with your photo in it. Available in 4x6, 5x7, and 8x10, prices range from $25 - $45. Perfect for their desk - nothing too flashy but looks very classy. I'd suggest this gift for your investment banker grandfather or lawyer father to add to their what I can assume to be a fancy office.

For any guy, no matter where they work, this gift is perfect. Everyone is so fascinated with this Water Bottle Set. It looks like a plastic bottle but it's made of glass. You'll be saving the environment and your body from gross BPA's by using this reusable bottle.

Back to the guys with the desk jobs, we all know how messy they can be. Why not help them organize their desks and add some fun style to them too? A few guys bought some of these trays last week - they're glass decoupaged with old forms and notes from way back when. They start at $12.50, email or call us to claim yours.

Does your guy have a man cave? How about adding some style and warmth with one of these throws? They come in so many colors I'm sure you could get one for him in his favorite NFL/NHL/NBA/MLB team color. The price ($146) is kind of amazing for this wool/cashmere blend.

Now in true No. Four Eleven form, I couldn't resist a post without some kind of monogramming. Check out these glasses you can monogram for your man.

This variety of glassware is available with two different style monograms - the diamond and block style. They start at $12.50 each, which includes the monogram. Email us to order a set to spruce up their bar cart. You might want to place your order sooner rather than later as each order is custom (obviously) and we need to allow extra time for shipping.

Finally, let me just remind you that Christmas is 20 days away. Luckily for you our website is open 24/7.

Decorating with blue & white...

Some of my happiest days are when I open my mailbox and find my favorite magazines sitting there just waiting to be poured over during my next free moment. The December/January issue of House Beautiful was the first one to catch my eye this morning. Take a look at the cover below...

A pretty neutral cover but I love the pops of blue, especially the blue and white porcelain. I saw that stool and thought it was the exact one we have in the store! Once I got to work I checked it out and realized we have a really similar one, but the scene is different and the colors are too. Good job, Kathryn, you're way off. I blame my blonde hair. Regardless, it's kinda close, right?

So that got me thinking about all of the blue and white porcelain kicking around this place, especially after I flipped through the spread on the cover house. It's pretty amazing. The abundance of blue and white porcelain acts as the common thread that ties the entire house together. The homeowners collection makes me think they could be borderline blue and white porcelain hoarders, in my opinion, but it definitely works for them. You should really pick up a copy of this issue, you won't regret it. Then, after you've flipped through the spread, you'll want some blue and white goodness for your own abode. That's where we come in.

We have a pair of these large ginger jar lamps that have a very similar landscape to the one painted on the stool on the cover, $480 each but so worth it. Email us to snag the two we have in the store.

(Please excuse the fact that it's sitting on the floor. They were sitting on these Derby side tables but they've been taken away on approval. Sidenote: blue and white lamps look really great on washed grey furniture).

I kept snapping photos of our products with my beloved iPhone, so check out all of the blue and white we can offer...

We have two of these blue and white porcelian jars.

We have one of these ginger jars.

These are the most adorable little blue and white lamps.

We have two of these taller blue and white ginger jar lamps, which look really great as a pair.

Now if your purse strings are tight but you still want some blue and white, may I recommend these?

Let's all let out a collective "awww!". Who can resist these cocktail napkins and guest towels? Made by Iomoi for Matouk, these have been a total hit in the store.

There you go. No more excuses for a lack of blue and white in your home. The best part about blue & white porcelain? It never goes out of style so you know you're making a worthwhile investment!

Globetrotting

Decorating with maps has been a consistent trend in the design world over the past 2 years, but lately I've noticed a shift towards vintage globes, rather than maps. They're a great way to add an old world feel to a space without making it seem too traditional and stuffy. An antique globe can you run for thousands of dollars so check your local garage sales, Craigslist, or vintage shops for a total steal.

Now for a little shameless self-promotion - take a look at some of our latest inventory, these mini vintage inspired globes.

Practically everyone that has walked into the store has commented on these little guys. So cute, right? And don't fall off your chair when you read the price... $12.50 each! You know, people always say to start small when it comes to curating a collection.

And now, a little decorating with globes inspiration for you...
