Before & After

Happy 2014 everyone! We've been a little lax about posting, so I thought I would start the year off with a before and after!

This is a den of young family with three little ones. It needed to be comfy, practical and fun for entertaining friends. Keeping the kids in mind, we used durable navy upholstery, an ottoman with hidden toy storage and a textured seagrass rug. Here is the before...

And here is the after...

And after...

Before and After

It's Claire here! I FINALLY had some professional pictures taken of the Isle of Hope Cottage I've been working on and wanted to share the before and after photos with you. Allison Morgan, who is a wonderful Savannah photographer (and a lovely person!), took all the great shots. She also has a fabulous historic house you can check out here

This is a small guest room that was built over the garage.  Here is the before...

The walls were covered in shiplap and painted a creamy white.  We added a dramatic upholstered headboard we made with Libeco Flax Linen with a tape trim and antique brass nailheads.

Then we had curtains made in an ivory linen and added a trim of a gold on gold animal print (Glam Skin by Duralee).  We used bamboo shades for some texture and privacy. We reupholstered an existing club chair in a taupey/gray cotton velvet. The brass lanterns are from Circa Lighting and then we added fun patterned light sleeves from Kaarskoker. The bedside lights are the Boston Functional Lights by Circa. The linen bedding is by Libeco and the gold striped bedskirt is from John Robshaw. A wool & sisal carpet by Merida Meridian makes it feel like you're in a cloud!

These are the great photos that Allison took...

Let me know what you think!  I'll be posting the other rooms all week, so stay posted.

Historic Home on Warren Square

Linn Gresham, a fabulous designer here in Savannah, recently updated this beautiful historic home on Warren Square for a young family. She used drapery, furnishings, accessories, lighting, art, and Christmas decor to liven up one of oldest homes in Savannah. According to Linn, they asked for a white backdrop and small doses of bold color with mismatched patterns. The client asked for layers of olive green, grey-green, aubergine, citron, and fuchsia. Check out her amazing work!

One of the few homes in Savannah's Colonial Section that survived the 1796 fires.
